Common Allergy Symptoms

Your nasal symptoms — congestion, itchy and/or runny nose, sneezing, postnasal drip — are your body's natural response to the seasonal allergens and environmental irritants you're breathing in from the air.

Common allergens include grass, trees, and flowers, and common irritants include car exhaust, perfumes, and cleaning products.

Most people with allergies have these kinds of nasal symptoms:

  • Stuffy or plugged-up nose (congestion)
  • Itching in the nose, mouth, throat, and eyes
  • Runny nose
  • A drip at the back of the throat (postnasal drip)
  • Sneezing
